Justn is just now turning 3 this spring of 2008. He will be started ASAP. He’s cute and good minded. Swirl gave birth to him in the middle of the night in March 2005—we were getting ready to leave on a trip and I was having a difficult decision if I should go. I didn’t want to leave the farm before she foaled. Well, Swirl came through—Justin was foaled 2 days before we left. So he earned the name JPF Justn Time.

I’m hoping he can fit in the hoofprints of his mom Swirl and his big half brothers Jackpot, Stetson, Gunner, and Dualn and his half sister Jazzy. Time and wet saddle pads will tell.

Update 2010
Well he can do it! Fit into those shoes- He is well started now and has turned out to be laid back and a real gentleman. It just goes to show what a great foundation of natural horsemanship methods can do for a horse. He’s been a pleasure to start and ride. One of my students and part of my extended family, Maddy has been riding him in some lessons and they are a great team. She had her eye on him from day one – She was watching me ride him. Never saw a cowgirl jump up so fast to get her helmet. Hopefully by the end of the year we can call him broke.

Congrats to Maddy & Justn!
Maddy has purchased Justn and she will be keeping him here on the farm. They made a great team and I couldn’t have chosen a better cowgirl than Maddy to own my last colt from Swirl. You see now Maddy will always have a very special piece of Swirl close to her heart. She loves Justn and he loves her too. They have a great respect for each other and will continue to learn more each ride.

This cowgirl understands that the horse teaches you and then you teach the horse.

Maddy’s 1st horse was Maxiumn Smooth – who is a “been there done that” kind of horse. Max in one in a million – over the years, Max taught Maddy about horsemanship. Now Max has a new family to teach the ropes to… another student of mine, Linda, purchased Max to be her 1st horse. Owning a horse has now been checked off of Linda’s “Bucket List”.

Now, though hard work, education, dedication and the help of a horse like Max, Maddy is ready to continue on in her horsemanship journey and bring Justn along. Now it’s her time to teach Justn.

Happy Trails to Maddy & Justn!
